Google’s upcoming mid-ranger, the Pixel 8a, isn’t expected to debut for several months, but leaks and rumors have already begun to circulate, including details about exclusive wallpapers for the device. Artists SmartPrix and Kamila Wojciechowska recently shared the new wallpapers, crediting Andrew Zuckerman as the creator and revealing that the collection features three new wallpapers called Trinite, Barite, and Hematite, each with light and dark versions to match different aesthetics.
These wallpapers showcase the natural beauty and intricate patterns of various minerals. For example, the Titanite wallpapers feature a green emerald stone, which could correspond with one of the color options for the Pixel 8a. The Barite wallpapers highlight the mineral on a blue background, while the Hematite wallpapers show the mineral in a dark blue hue. There’s also a “porcelain” wallpaper and a Motif collection illustration designed by Finnish artist Antti Kalevi, all available to download in high resolution.
The Pixel 8a is anticipated to launch in May 2024 at Google’s I/O developer conference. With the new Tensor G3 chip, this mid-range Pixel will offer the best features from the Pixel 8 at a more affordable price point. In addition, Google promises up to seven years of OS and security updates for its next mid-range Pixel, bolstering its appeal as a top budget smartphone option.
