What you should know

  • Unreleased and unannounced smartphones, especially next-gen Galaxy powerhouses, often experience a sudden deluge of visual leaks in the lead-up to their official launch events.
  • The S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra are currently the subject of such leaks, with detailed renders of the anticipated Android flagships appearing just weeks before their expected launch.
  • The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature a titanium frame for increased durability, a flat screen, and improved rear-facing cameras. Other upgrades related to AI technology and display brightness are also anticipated.
  • The Galaxy S24 Plus is expected to resemble the S24 more than the S24 Ultra, offering a 6.7-inch screen and lacking S Pen support. However, it may match the S24 Ultra in terms of storage and memory configurations.

“Rain, rain, go away.” We’ve all heard that one, right? It’s funny how this saying often rings true for those yet-to-be-released smartphones. They seem to spring leaks from every direction as their official launch events loom.

Take the next-gen Galaxy powerhouses for instance. They’re usually the target of a sudden flood of visual leaks after a period of calm in the rumor mill. This is precisely the case for the S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra right now. These eagerly awaited Android flagships are being rendered in exquisite detail and stunning clarity, with just a few weeks to go until their expected unveiling.

Let’s start with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung‘s next crown jewel. Predictably, it’s shown with its trusty S Pen in a total of four paint jobs. They look pretty much identical to the Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Amber Yellow, and Cobalt Violet hues of the base Galaxy S24. But the S24 Ultra? They’re going to be labeled slightly differently: Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Yellow, and Titanium Violet.

Why? Well, it’s kind of obvious. We’re expecting this beautiful, stylus-wielding beast to sport a titanium frame. This should prove more durable than the “armor aluminum” bodies of the S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, and yes, the S24 and S24 Plus.

Samsung has prepared more than just a titanium frame for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. A perfectly flat screen now seems almost certain, along with a subtly curved frame and back panel. The rear-facing cameras might look the same, but wait till you get your hands on a working unit. You’ll likely find the performance of the four shooters to be vastly improved.

The S24 Plus? It’s not too small, not too expensive. We don’t yet know exactly how much the S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra will cost, but it’s clear that Samsung plans to follow a largely familiar pricing pattern.

The S24+ will more strongly resemble the S24 than the S24 Ultra. It reportedly offers a generous 6.7 inches of screen real estate, but lacks the S Pen support and the overall sophistication of its slightly bigger brother.

All three members of the Galaxy S24 family will pack the same state-of-the-art Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC (at least in the US). But like its little sibling, the Plus model carries three and not four cameras on its back. It has a primary 50MP shooter rather than a 200MP sensor running the photography show.

The S24 Plus, rendered in the exact same non-titanium black, gray, yellow, and violet color options as the S24, could mimic the S24 Ultra in terms of storage and memory configurations. We’re talking 256 gigs of the former in an entry-level variant and 12GB RAM across the board.
