The Galaxy Watch 6 is more than just ‘great’. It’s got a bit of a battery life issue, but if you’re an Android user craving that OLED goodness, it’s still one of your best smartwatch options.
But hey, not everyone’s rocking the latest Samsung timepiece. Plenty of folks are still happy with their Galaxy Watch 3 and aren’t planning on ditching it anytime soon.
According to SamMobile, updates for the Galaxy Watch 3 are still coming in. Samsung’s One UI Watch 5 update, which made its grand debut with the Galaxy Watch 6 series, has already landed on the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 lineups.
Now, the Galaxy Watch 3 and Active 2 are getting in on the action. They’re getting some of the newest watch faces from the update. But, just a heads up, older smartwatches running Tizen OS won’t be getting this update.
The two new watch faces? They’re called Stretched Time and Perpetual, borrowed from the latest version of One UI.
This update has the firmware versions R840XXU1DWK2 / R850XXU1DWK2 and it’s currently rolling out in Europe. The Tizen OS version? Still unchanged at 5.5.0.2.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 hasn’t gotten these new watch faces yet. But, it should eventually. Perhaps with its next firmware update?
The last time the Galaxy Watch 3 and the Watch Active 2 got a bunch of new features? That was back in September 2022.
