Google has just made some major upgrades to the Google Drive app for Android foldables and tablets. The new improvements aim to make the Google Workspace experience much smoother and more efficient for users on larger screen Android devices. The latest update brings three key improvements to the Google Drive app, making the tablet experience more in line with the web experience. Users will now be able to see a tappable folder hierarchy above the main doclist, allowing them to easily navigate nested folders and keep track of their location in Drive. Additionally, per-file data columns have been added to show when a file was last modified and how much storage each file is using. Furthermore, the color palette of the app now matches the Google Material Design 3 guidelines.
These new features are being rolled out to Rapid Release domains, and users enrolled in this specific branch can expect to see the improvements soon. However, those in Scheduled Release domains will have to wait until November 27 for the launch to begin.
