Are you itching to be among the first to get your hands on Samsung’s next-gen Android super-phones? Or, are you more of a wait-and-see kind of person? Maybe you’re holding off to see how the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra will be priced in your area before you commit to a purchase, pre-order, or even an early reservation.

If you’re in the latter group, there’s some news that might help you make up your mind. Especially if you’re in France. Apparently, the starting prices of the entire S24 family in France have been leaked. This happened in the terms and conditions of a contest run by a major local retailer.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that these numbers are spot on. But they’re close enough to what we’ve heard from another source that they’re worth looking into. So, how do the expected Galaxy S24 series prices compare with the S23? That’s the big question, right? Well, the answer is a bit… mixed.

If you’re thinking of buying a “regular” Galaxy S24 or a non-Ultra S24 Plus at launch, you might be pleased. Their €899 and €1169 base prices are slightly lower than the €959 and €1219 that the S23 and S23+ used to cost in France. But, there’s a catch.

The €1469 Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to surpass the already pricey €1419 S23 Ultra. This aligns with other recent rumors and revelations. Remember, Europe is a big place with a lot of variation. So, these numbers might not be identical to what was reported last week. But there’s a good chance both sets of information will prove correct for different countries.

And speaking of different countries, you’re probably wondering about the cost in the US. Unfortunately, we can’t give a definitive answer right now. But here are our best guesses: Galaxy S24 – $750 with 128GB storage; Galaxy S24 Plus – $950 in an entry-level 256GB configuration; Galaxy S24 Ultra – $1,200 in a 256 gig variant.

Yes, we know, $1,200 is the current price for the cheapest S23 Ultra model. And we don’t see Samsung hiking up that figure stateside anytime soon for its non-foldable super-flagship, despite European fluctuations.

We also don’t want to get your hopes up and predict a $100 price drop for the S24 and S24 Plus. Even if the S23 FE did recently become affordable enough to create a gap for the “vanilla” S23’s sequel to step into at $700. A $700 base Galaxy S24 sounds dreamy, but we’re keeping our feet on the ground. We’ll wait for concrete regional information before getting too excited.

In the meantime, remember that Samsung is accepting S24 reservations with no commitment to buy. Plus, there’s a nice little pre-order perk included. And there’s not long to wait now for Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event.
