This comes after the South Korean tech giant rolled out Android 14 updates for a bunch of phones and tablets last month. But here’s the catch – not all regions where these products are sold have access to these updates.
The Galaxy A33 5G was one of the first budget-friendly phones to get the Android 14 update, but only in a handful of countries. However, things are changing this week. Samsung’s started to roll out the Galaxy A33 5G Android 14 update in more regions.
According to a report by SamMobile, Galaxy A33 owners in Asia and Europe should be able to upgrade their phones to Android 14. The report lists a few countries, but it’s a safe bet that more will join the list in the coming weeks.
As of now, folks in China, Hong Kong, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Korea, Ukraine, and the Caucasus region can snag the update. But there’s a bit of a downer – the update comes with a somewhat outdated November 2023 security patch.
The Galaxy A33 5G hit the market two years ago, running Android 12. So, this makes Android 14 its second major OS update. Now, the million-dollar question is whether Samsung will keep the updates coming for the Galaxy A33 5G, maybe even up to Android 16. Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
