Samsung’s got something cooking, folks. We’re talking about two new fast chargers for Galaxy devices: a 50W wired dual-charger and a revamped 45W power adapter.
The 50W wired dual-charger, known as the EP-T5020, is a game changer. It can charge two Galaxy devices at the same time. How cool is that?
Then there’s the 45W power adapter, the EP-T4511. It’s rumored to be an update of the existing EP-T4510 charger.
Now, let’s talk about the Galaxy S24 series. Thanks to a flood of leaks and rumors, we’re pretty much in the know about the details. But the contents of the box? That’s still a mystery.
We can make educated guesses, though. Smartphone manufacturers these days aren’t big on surprises. Samsung, for instance, stopped including chargers in the retail box a while ago.
But here’s the thing. According to tipster Roland Quandt (via Android Headlines), Samsung’s not done with chargers. Not by a long shot.
The company is preparing to launch the aforementioned fast chargers for Galaxy devices. The expected lineup includes the updated 45W power adapter and a fresh 50W dual-charger.
Samsung’s upcoming 50W dual-charger, the Charger Duo (model number EP-T5020), is a beast. It can fast charge two Galaxy devices at once through USB-C at a whopping 50W speed.
But there’s a catch. Samsung’s smartphones are currently capped at a maximum charging speed of 45W. Even the Galaxy S24 flagships are rumored to stick to the 45W charging limit, with the base model potentially capped at 25W.
The company is also reportedly developing a new 45W power brick, the EP-T4511. This could be an updated version of the current EP-T4510 charger. We’re not sure how the new charger will differ from the old one, but we’ll find out when it launches.
The Galaxy S24 series is just around the corner. Samsung has officially confirmed its Unpacked event for January 17. And to sweeten the deal, Samsung’s offering a $50 credit to early adopters who reserve their preferred upcoming Galaxy smartphone on Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung App between now and January 16. So, what are you waiting for?
